This weekend’s Open House was one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

It was pure joy to welcome our waiting list families into our home and watch them meet the puppies in person for the first time. Some pups walked right up like they already knew who they belonged to. Others took their time, sniffed a few hands, then climbed into a lap like they’d found their safe place. Watching those first connections form—it never gets old.

But Open House also comes with a quiet, bittersweet feeling.

We’ve raised these pups since birth. We know who loves belly rubs, who waits at the back of the pack, who thinks they’re the boss of the food bowl. We’ve cleaned up after them, cuddled them, trained them, and laughed at their goofy antics—like fighting over the AC vent for nap time, because apparently that’s the premium puppy nap spot in this house.

Now, the countdown begins. In just a few short weeks, they’ll be heading off to their forever homes.

It’s not easy. Every puppy takes a piece of our hearts with them. But what fills that space is something even more powerful—gratitude. We’re grateful to be part of their beginning, and even more grateful to be welcoming incredible families into the Dinork circle. Families who already care deeply and are ready to take the torch from here.

To everyone who joined us this weekend—thank you. Thank you for the conversations, the gentle hands, the laughs, the excitement. You’ve made this chapter even more special.

We’ll be soaking up these final weeks together—puppy kisses, crate practice, and all—but we know they’re heading right where they’re meant to be.
